Customers can maximize profit by using Metriguard equipment to measure physical properties of wood materials and then grade or sort the material so it goes to its highest and best end use. Various Metriguard products are designed to measure the physical properties of structural dimension lumber, timber, particleboard, oriented strand board (OSB), and veneer for use in structural laminated veneer lumber (LVL).
Metriguard's products were developed from customer-identified needs and problems. Modulus of elasticity, bending strength, compression strength, shear strength, tensile strength, sonic velocity, defect detection, wood fiber angle and amount of fiber alignment are measured using Metriguard equipment. Metriguard innovations have enhanced traditional forest products testing equipment and new equipment introduced by Metriguard has become the industry standard.
Metriguard has a modern office and manufacturing facility in Pullman Washington. Pullman is a city of 31,000 located in the beautiful rolling wheat fields of eastern Washington about 75 miles south of Spokane Washington. The company was incorporated in 1973.
